Biography

Heather Richardson is the Internship and Fellowship Coordinator at SERC. She is responsible for building impactful career-building opportunities for interns and fellows that foster the development of the next generation of environmental scientists and scientifically minded thinkers. She strives to provide meaningful learning experiences and inclusive professional spaces for people to explore their interests, connect with the natural world, and grow their professional confidence.

Heather has a background in Biology and Marine Science with 10+ years of professional experience in informal and museum education. She has taught hands-on environmental science programs in California, Georgia, Maryland, and New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to her time at SERC, she has worked at two other Smithsonian locations, the National Museum of Natural History and the Office of Academic Appointments and Internships.
