The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center is dedicated to fostering the development of the next generation of environmental scientists and scientifically minded thinkers through an active fellowship and internship program with an international scope.

Internships are meaningful and supportive professional learning experiences that provide access to the field of environmental science.

Fellowships are opportunities for independent study and research that make use of SERC researchers and facilities.

Interns and fellows are important members of the SERC community, making notable contributions to the center's research effort while continuing their own education and connecting with experts in the field.
