Biography

Dr. Hannah Morrissette is a coastal wetland biogeochemist with experience in mangrove research, conservation, and restoration. She has led field, laboratory, and data analysis efforts for mangrove blue carbon and monitoring in the Mesoamerican Reef and Caribbean regions, aimed at evaluating coastal ecosystems on a holistic level through the research of carbon fluxes and biodiversity. She prioritizes the building of local capacity through in-field trainings, data dissemination, and scientific communication, and provides directly applicable data to stakeholders to inform coastal protection policies and strategies.
