The longest nights of the year are at hand, and the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center wants to know where YOU find your sources of beauty and inspiration. Submit your winter photos for our fourth 12 Nights of Solstice celebration on social media! This year's theme is "Life From the Frozen Earth." 

For 12 nights starting on the winter solstice Dec. 21, we'll share positive seasonal inspiration through your photos. Five photos will come from the public; five photos will come from Smithsonian staff and volunteers. The final two photos will be chosen by voters, in a new People’s Choice category! Submit up to three photos with a short description before midnight on Sunday, Dec. 1, using this photo entry form.
